Questions about paying

When your first bill arrives, why there are two, how the standing order works — and what applies when you cancel.

01

When do I get my first bill?

On the 1st of the month after you join. We don't issue a bill in your joining month.

If you join on 15 May, for example, your first bill arrives on 1 June and is due by 5 June.

02

Why did I get two bills?

Because you joined mid-month and pay monthly. In one email you receive:

  1. a one-off bill for the remaining training sessions of your joining month — you pay this once, by hand;
  2. the regular monthly bill — this amount is the amount for your standing order.

Both are due by the 5th and carry the same payment reference. We split them on purpose: it means your standing order matches the recurring amount exactly and never has to be changed because of a one-off charge.

03

How is the one-off pro-rata amount calculated?

We count the training sessions your level offers in the rest of your joining month — not how often you actually attended.

Example: joining 15 May, 2× per week at CHF 100.00 per month

StepCalculationResult
Price per sessionCHF 100.00 × 12 ÷ (52 × 2)CHF 11.54
Days left in May31 − 15 + 117 days
Available sessions17 ÷ 7 × 2, rounded5
One-off amountCHF 11.54 × 5CHF 57.70

So on 1 June you receive CHF 57.70 as a one-off and CHF 100.00 for June — both due 5 June. Your standing order is set to CHF 100.00.

Joining right at the end of the month? If fewer than 5 days remain in the month from your joining day, we waive the pro-rata amount. You only get the regular monthly bill — nothing is carried over.

04

When do I have to pay?

By the 5th of the month the bill relates to. That date is the same for every member, whenever you joined.

The bill is issued on the 1st. If we ever send a bill late, you have at least three days.

05

How do I set up the standing order?

Once, with your bank — in e-banking it's usually under "standing order" (Dauerauftrag) or "recurring payment":

  • Amount: the amount of the regular monthly bill (not the one-off one);
  • Reference: the reference number from your QR-bill — it never changes;
  • Execution: monthly, so the money reaches us before the 5th (e.g. on the 1st or 2nd);
  • Recipient: the QR-IBAN and address from your bill.

Because the reference never changes, you don't need to touch the standing order for subsequent bills.

If your family has several members, each membership has its own reference — set up one standing order per membership.

Important: if your amount changes — new training level, a discount ends, a fee adjustment — please update the standing order yourself. We can't do it for you.

06

I pay annually. What applies to me?

With annual payment there is no pro-rata bill. Instead, your joining date decides when your fee year starts:

  • Joining before the 15th of a month: your year starts on the 1st of that month. The days before you joined are included in the annual fee.
  • Joining on or after the 15th: your joining month is free. Your year starts on the 1st of the following month.

In both cases you receive the bill on the 1st and pay by the 5th. It's the same every year after that: bill on the 1st, due on the 5th.

07

An authority pays our fees. How does that work?

You declare it yourself when registering. After that:

  • you receive the QR-bill like everyone else, with a note asking you to forward it;
  • you forward the bill to the responsible office — we have no contact with the authority;
  • you have 30 days from the invoice date instead of until the 5th;
  • you stay responsible. If the authority doesn't pay or pays late, we come to you, and the payment reminders go to you.
08

What happens if I pay late?

We automatically send email reminders 10 days, 30 days and 60 days after the due date. Each stage is sent once.

There is no late fee and no default interest, and training attendance is not blocked automatically.

If a bill is still open after the final reminder, we'll get in touch personally. In persistent cases the board can end the membership and pursue the debt. If money is tight, please contact us early — we can usually find a solution, and there's the KulturLegi discount (question 11).

09

When can I cancel and when does the membership end?

You cancel in the platform under "Cancel membership".

With monthly payment the membership ends at a quarter end, provided you cancelled one month beforehand:

Cancel byEnds on
28/29 February31 March
31 May30 June
31 August30 September
30 November31 December
after 30 November31 March of the following year

If you cancel on 1 March, for example, the membership ends on 30 June — not 31 March, because the end-of-February cut-off had already passed.

With annual payment the membership ends at the end of the year you paid for.

You can train normally until the end date, and fees continue until then. Under the statutes there are no refunds — not even pro-rata ones.

Don't forget: cancel your standing order with your bank after the end date. Only you can do that.

10

Can I change my training level?

Yes, at any time in the platform. The new fee applies from the next bill; the current bill stays as it is.

Remember the standing order afterwards — the new amount has to be entered there by you.

While a cancellation is pending, the membership can no longer be changed.

11

What discounts are there?

Siblings — in order of registration: the 1st child pays in full, the 2nd child gets 15%, the 3rd and each further child 50%. Children on a trial are not counted. If a child leaves the club, the others move up and their discount may become smaller.

KulturLegi — a 30% discount. Upload a photo or PDF of your card in the platform and enter the name on the card and the expiry date (we don't need the card number). We check it by hand, usually within a few working days. The discount applies from the next bill; we don't change bills already sent. When the card expires, the discount ends automatically — we remind you by email 30 days beforehand. Just upload the new card then.

Combination: for each child, whichever of two variants is more favourable always applies – the sum of the sibling reduction and the annual discount (10%), or the KulturLegi reduction of 30%. The two are never combined; with a valid KulturLegi you always get at least 30%.

If the KulturLegi wins, paying annually adds no further discount – 30% applies monthly and annually alike.

12

How does the free trial work?

Two free sessions within 30 days. You don't need payment details and there are no costs.

The trial ends as soon as both sessions have been used or the 30 days have passed — whichever comes first.

After that you decide whether to take out a membership, choosing your training level and payment frequency. From then on the normal rules apply: first bill on the 1st of the following month, due on the 5th.

If the 30 days run out while a free session is still unused, we convert the trial into a 1×/week membership at CHF 80.00 per month. If you don't want that, simply end the trial beforehand in the platform or get in touch with us.
